Shelving systems come in a variety of sizes and types depending on the application that is needed. From static shelving through to dynamic live storage, STS Storage systems can offer the right system for your needs.
What shelving system do I need?
The choice can be bewildering, so the first question to ask is “What am I using it for?” is it for bulky items or smaller parts? Is space at a premium? Where do you want to site it? In other words, what is the product profile and how do you need to pick and access it?
With a fast pick operation, you could consider a live storage system using rollers beds, popular on factory and pick lines.
Longspan Shelving: A hybrid system between pallet racking and shelving, this versatile system will hold larger (non-palletised) loads suitable for the manual handling of products.
Metal Adjustable Shelving: A smaller lighter duty shelving system aimed at small parts, plastic container (tote bin) storage which can be used in stores and offices, this shelving system typically comes in two standard widths, various depths, heights and has the option of being part/fully enclosed (cladding).
Mobile Shelving: A more specialist application where space is at a premium. It comes in two types; hand or electrically operated, this shelving system sits in a nice tight block creating access aisles when you need it. Mobile shelving can be seen in office, library and archive store environments, but to be honest this is a great solution in any space.
Two-Tier and Three-Tier Shelving: A solution for when the height of a warehouse can be utilised, our shelving system can be used to allow for picking on the ground, first and second-floor locations. A variety of sizes and configurations make this a popular and flexible option.
Archive Shelving: Created from Longspan shelving this is the ideal solution to house all those files and documents that are only required once in a while. We supply a host of widths and depths to suit every awkward space in your warehouse whilst optimising storage capacity.
This operates on the same principle as pallet live storage but is used for stock which needs to be hand-loaded and picked.
Inclined trays of roller tracks which are set at levels in the storage bays allow goods to roll under the force of gravity to the pick location. Order picking times are reduced and errors minimised. Carton flow racking provides an excellent, labour and space-efficient method of ‘first-in, first-out’ storage, particularly in areas where handling and using fast moving product lines are of paramount importance.
