The Challenge

To undertake a warehouse relocation of stock and materials from Angels warehouses in Newbury and Hendon.

STS Storage carried out surveys to four units and undertook feasibility studies for each unit to see if the proposed warehouses were suitable for Angels expansion plans.

Once a warehouse was located in Luton, STS Storage Systems and Angels met to finalise a drawing and projected timeline.

With Angels having peak times throughout the costume season it was crucial to their productivity that the timelines were met.

A total of 385 frames and 3500 beams needed to be dismantled and relocated.

The Solution

Once the final drawings had been produced a final survey was undertaken. To avoid as little downtime as possible for phase 1, Angels had to reduce the stock holding in Newbury to allow us access to dismantle 40% of the pallet racking. STS Storage dismantled the racking in Newbury and immediately transported the materials to Luton to be rebuilt.

Between phase 1 and phase 2 Angels relocated their stock to Luton into the newly stood pallet racking. This allowed STS Storage access for dismantling the remaining pallet racking at Newbury.

The materials were shipped directly to Luton and rebuilt, however, this time Angels staff were on site picking customer’s orders. STS Storage and Angels worked in collaboration to ensure a safe installation was undertaken.

With our patient installation team and very cooperative client we were able to achieve a completion date for the second phase which was on time and with the site ready for handing over to the client.
