Since May, Ash has been getting involved in a few more competitive events from cycling to triathlons, our Director at STS Storage loves the challenge.
The Chiltern 100, 15th May 2016
Starting early at Bovington Airfield with approximately 2000 other riders to complete the 122km bike ride through the stunning Chilterns, this particular race was a new one for Ash. Although the course is hilly and taxing the stunning scenery made the pain and strain easier to handle. Luckily this is a route that Ash knows all too well as it’s close to home. The added fact that the day was cold and bright made the challenge much easier to accomplish.
Blenheim Palace Triathlon, 5th June 2016
Another first time at this event, a much larger organisation than previous events entered and set in the scenic grounds of Blenheim Palace. After a slow swim start due to the cold lake Ash picked up pace and finished in 1:51:17 which is quite a respectable time! However the fastest of the day was Olympic Gold medallist Alastair Brownlee at 0:58:01.
Sunday saw some beautiful weather (best recorded so far this year) so he was lucky to finish just before it got too hot!
Finally on 31st July he will be doing the Prudential Ride London 100, a 100 mile cycle ride from London to Surrey and back. Ash completed this event last year so it’s round 2 for him!
We would like to say congratulations to Ash, these events aren’t easy and we admire his dedication. #keeponrunning
