PALLET RACKING

Live Pallet Racking

Depending on whether you are looking at First In, First Out (FIFO) or Last In, First Out (LIFO). STS Storage Systems can offer you the right advice and guide you through the process.

In the main you have two options, the first being pallet Live (FIFO) where loading is at the opposite end and the pallet is transferred to the front pick face via rollers on an incline.

The second is Pushback (LIFO) which basically uses a single loading and offloading point at the front face. Both offer an excellent high-density storage solution for your organisation.

PALLET LIVE (FIFO)

The Live Pallet Racking or FIFO dynamic pallet racking system is a compact structure with a slight incline and roller conveyors that allows palletised products to slide freely and safely.

Loaded pallets enter the racking at one end and moves them forward on a roller system with a series of controllers and brakes for a smooth and safe journey to the front pick face for retrieval, which is safely held in place with a retainer

PUSH BACK (LIFO)

The Push-back racking or LIFO is for pallets having a single loading and unloading area, at the front of the rack, with the unit loads being stored by pushing the previous ones towards the back of the rack. Depending on the pallet type and other logistical considerations used to move the pallets, there are two types of Push-Back Racking:

Cart Push Back :
As the name suggests the pallet sits on a cart which loads and unloads from the front face, with any empty carts nesting into each other. Cart pushback can operate up to 6 pallets deep with up to 1400 kgs per pallet. Full lane and height indicators make this a very safe system. Cart Push back does rely on pallet uniformity.

Roller Pushback :
In this case, the system operates on a series of rollers rather than a cart where you have a mixture of pallet sizes (UK and Euros), the system has a series of separators and brake rollers for safety and ease of operation. This system can also accommodate varying pallet designs.
