Warehouse Impact Protection

Reduce the Costs of Repeated Impact Damage

Forklifts, pallet trucks and automated vehicles can repeatedly strike rack ends, columns, doorways and pedestrian routes.

Repairs interrupt operations, replacement protection creates recurring expense, and damaged barriers or fixings can leave the assets behind them exposed.

STS identifies the highest-risk areas of your site and specifies protection around traffic flow, equipment and site constraints.

Polymer vs Steel Barriers

Go Beyond Resisting Impact, Absorb it

Traditional steel protection is designed to resist or redirect a collision. A sufficiently strong impact can permanently deform the barrier or transfer force into its fixings and the structure behind it.

Our Plastic Barriers use modular polymer rails and built-in damping to absorb impact forces. The system can flex under load, while its modular design supports future layout changes and component-level replacement where required.

Traditional Steel Protection

Resists or redirects impact. After a sufficiently strong collision, inspection, repair or replacement may be needed. Performance depends on the system and installation.

Polymer Impact Protection

Designed to absorb energy and flex. Modular rails and posts support future layout changes and component-level replacement where required.

Warehouse Barrier Applications

Protecting Areas that keep Operations Moving

Rack ends and uprights

Help protect racking where lift trucks, forks and pallet movements meet storage infrastructure.

Columns, walls and doorways

Use bollards, column guards and impact barriers around exposed building features and equipment.

Pedestrian routes

Create clear separation between people and vehicle traffic, including gates and defined crossing points where appropriate.

Low-level and automated-vehicle zones

Protect perimeters and critical infrastructure from forks, pallets, AGVs and AMRs.

X-Protect Polymer Barrier Range

Built for busy and changing sites

The X-Protect range includes impact barriers, pedestrian barriers, floor barriers, bollards, column guards and upright protection. Its modular rail-and-post design supports layout changes and allows worn or damaged components to be replaced individually.

This makes the range relevant to high-traffic warehouses, logistics and production sites, shared pedestrian and vehicle areas, and operations where recurring repairs and disruption need to be reduced.

Barrier Design & Installation

Protection Designed Around Your Operation

STS starts with an on-site survey to team review vehicle movements, impact risks, pedestrian routes, racking, infrastructure and future layout changes before recommending the appropriate mix of protection. Vehicles, speeds, loads and available deflection space will all be considered in the configuration.

01

Site survey and risk review

Review traffic routes, likely impact points, people, equipment, racking and vulnerable infrastructure.

02

Layout and solution planning

Appropriate protection types and configuration selected using approved product data and the available deflection space.

03

Supply and installation

Coordinated supply and installation around the agreed site layout and operational requirements.

04

Sign-off and ongoing support

Confirm the completed protection layout and support future changes, inspection or component replacement when needed.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Plastic and polymer barrier FAQs

Find answers to common questions about polymer warehouse barriers, suitable applications and how STS selects the right protection for your site.

Steel systems resist or redirect impact and may deform after a sufficiently strong collision. Polymer systems are designed to absorb energy and flex; performance depends on the selected configuration and application.
Typical applications include rack ends, columns, walls, doorways, pedestrian routes, machinery, loading areas and traffic zones used by forklifts, AGVs and AMRs.
Selection depends on the vehicle, likely impact point, speed, load, available deflection space and the people or assets being protected. STS confirms this through a site review and approved product data.
