Smarter Storage Systems

Free on-site Survey

At STS Storage Systems, health and safety isn’t a checkbox exercise added at the end of a project — it’s designed in from the start. From warehouse design and pallet racking installation through to inspections, maintenance and repairs, our team combines IOSH training, recognised industry accreditations and over 40 years of storage expertise to help you create a safer, better-managed warehouse.

IOSH Trained Leadership — Real Expertise You Can Rely On

Our leadership team has completed IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) training in managing health and safety effectively in the workplace. IOSH is the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation and the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals, ensuring our team applies recognised, industry-leading standards to every project they oversee.
This reflects HSE guidance (HSG76), which states that managers and supervisors should be suitably trained and competent for their positions. Read more about our IOSH training.

Accredited Quality — ISO 9001:2015

STS is ISO 9001:2015 accredited as the internationally recognised standard for quality management. Every project, from initial site survey through to final sign-off, follows the same proven, independently audited process, ensuring consistent quality and safety across every stage of delivery

SEMA Storage & Racking Expertise

Our inspectors work in line with guidance from SEMA — the Storage Equipment Manufacturers’ Association. the UK’s leading authority on storage equipment and pallet racking safety.
SEMA sets the industry benchmark referenced by the HSE for racking design, inspection and maintenance, ensuring our recommendations are measured against a recognised, independent standard.

SEIRS-Qualified Racking Installers

Our installers are trained under SEIRS — the Storage Equipment Installers Registration Scheme, run by SEMA — giving them specialist, recognised training in the safe installation of racking and storage equipment. This means your racking goes up correctly the first time: properly fixed, correctly loaded, and installed in line with manufacturer and industry guidance.

Pallet Racking Safety & HSG76 Guidance

Warehouse safety doesn’t stop once racking is installed. The HSE’s HSG76 guidance sets out exactly what should happen next and STS delivers all of it as standard:
  • A nominated person responsible for racking safety, overseeing inspections and reporting
  • Regular visual inspections carried out by trained staff (weekly, or as set by risk assessment)
  • Immediate reporting of any damage or safety concerns, with no delay
  • A formal expert inspection at intervals of no more than 12 months, by a technically competent person, with a full written report
  • Clear training for every employee on the safe use of racking systems
This structured approach ensures damage is identified early, risk is managed proactively, and a clear record is maintained to demonstrate compliance.
STS carries out pallet racking inspections, maintenance and repairs to this exact standard, helping you stay compliant and keep your storage systems safe with a written report you can keep on file.
