External and Internal Storage For Crossrail.

The Challenge

As the main supplier of storage solutions for TFL (Transport For London), STS Storage Systems were contacted in January 2018 to look at some design concepts for the new Crossrail depot that would be allocated for external and internal storage. We initially came up with some ideas for pallet and small part storage which formed part of the specification and budget used for storage at the new Depot. We were then re-contacted in March 2019 to confirm a specification for the new pallet racking based on what STS has supplied previously at other depots. This specification was then used in the Tender documents issued to STS in June 2019.

The Solution

To provide heavy-duty Galvanised Pallet Racking with pressure-treated timber decking and Cable Drum storage for the external storage area. All new racks are designed for the storage of pallets with an Aisle-Master Articulated Truck from Hiremech Fork Lift Trucks. A low height Long Span Shelving system was supplied in the Maintenance Shed and Small Stores/Stock Rooms for small stock items.
