    Racking Solutions FAQ

Making the decision to have a mezzanine floor installed is a big business decision. We have listed some of our most common questions, which will help you decide if a mezzanine floor is the best solution for you.

We provide a whole host of racking & shelving systems such as Pallet Racking, Drive-in Racking, Cantilever Racking, Garment Racking and Vertical Racking.

Whether you need heavy-duty racking solutions installed for larger goods, or low-level lighter-duty racking for commercial units that require simple pick and pack processes, we can install the perfect racking solution for you.

Installation  for all racking solutions, whether it’s heavy-duty racking, drive-in racking, live-pallet racking, etc, involves assembling the frame, securing it to the floor, and adding beams and shelves, following the manufacturer’s instructions and safety standards.

All STS Storage’s racking solutions are bolted to the front & rear, according to FEM Standards and our staffed are all certified SEMA racking inspectors with years’ of experience in the industry,

Installation time varies depending on the site and project size. A more simple racking setup for a commercial space for example, might take a few hours.

Meanwhile, heavy-duty industrial racking for a larger warehouse unit requiring a more complex system can take several days.

Yes! STS Storage sees you right through from initial conception of a project, right through to consultations, completing and ongoing support.

Very! Racking inspections ensure the structural integrity and safety of the racking system, preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with regulations. We recommend having racking inspected once a year.

A racking inspection is  a form of risk assessment that helps identify and address potential hazards.
A racking inspection helps with several factors that are crucial to running a secure and efficient warehouse operation. For example it helps to:
    • Reduce the risk of injury or failure
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
    • Maintain the safety and integrity of the racking structure
    • A review of the racking’s condition, including any damage, wear and tear, and corrosion
    • An assessment of how stock is being stored
    • A check that the correct signage is in place
    • A classification of any damage using a traffic light system
    • A report that includes recommendations for remedial work
